Founded in 1922, We're Celebrating 100 Years of Quality Service
Welcome to Flowing Wells Irrigation District
Flowing Wells Irrigation District (FWID) is a municipal water provider serving drinking water on the north side of metropolitan Tucson. The District currently has over 3,500 service connections serving the domestic and fire protection needs of 16,000 people and numerous businesses. The District has been serving its customers quality water since 1922.
CENTRAL ARIZONA PROJECT WATER
The Flowing Wells Irrigation District maintains a Certificate of Assured Water Supply (AWS), which allocates annually 2,800 acre-feet of Central Arizona Project (CAP) water to offset groundwater pumping and maintain sustainable water management. The AWS program is mandated and administered by the Arizona Department of Water Resources.
Due to the continual cost increases of CAP water, effective April 1, 2025 the Flowing Wells Irrigation District has implemented a CAP water surcharge of $0.90 per 1,000 gallons used by its customers. This will help ensure the availability and delivery of high-quality water and service to the District’s current and future customers. Thank you; your business is valued.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS ANNOUNCEMENT
The Flowing Wells Irrigation District (District) is currently looking to fill a vacancy on its Board of Directors. Candidates are generally required to be qualified electors and landowners within the District’s boundaries.
Directors are elected to three-year terms, with elections structured to have one director elected annually.
